A healthcare facility in Cape Coral, FL, is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to provide interim overnight coverage on a contract basis. This 12-week assignment, starting August 30, offers a unique opportunity to support inpatient pharmacy operations during overnight hours in a well-equipped hospital environment.
Location: Cape Coral, FL
Position Type: Contract assignment, 12 weeks with possibility of extension
Schedule
- Overnight shift: 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 7 days on, 7 days off rotation
- Payroll week runs Sunday through Saturday
Responsibilities
- Verify medication orders and oversee medication dispensing overnight
- Supervise overnight pharmacy technicians who mix IVs, answer phone calls, and manage medication requests
- Utilize EPIC for order entry and interact with Omnicell automated cabinets and robot systems (training provided if needed)
- Work collaboratively with a dedicated overnight team consisting of one pharmacist and one technician (11 PM to 7 AM)
- Adhere to facility dress code: teal scrubs or professional attire with a white coat
Desired Qualifications
- Active Florida Pharmacist license required
- Prior inpatient pharmacy experience essential
- Familiarity with EPIC order entry system preferred
- Comfortable supervising pharmacy technicians and managing overnight workflow
- Ability to complete at least one 7-night orientation stretch prior to starting
